Orienteering Orientation- Map and Compass Training

Come to the new Pine Tree Council Service Center and attend this exciting Orienteering Orientation Course. This course is perfect for sharpening your orienteering skills or for beginners that are starting from square one. If you are an adult leader wanting to learn this subject to teach to the youth in your Unit, this is the course for you!

You can expect to learn the following:

• Types of Compasses
• How they work
• Holding them properly
• The buddy system
• Types of maps
• Topographic maps- title, datum, scale, image, legend, and compass
• Basic terrain features
• And a whole lot more!!!!

The Scout shop will be open after the course for any of your shopping needs.
